IDF WORLD CUP ENDS

Well I have a little time to kill before heading to the airport so I figure do a update then I will practice a bit before making the 16hr journey home.  First off congratulations to Team USA for their exciting last game victory over Team Japan to take home the WORLD CUP title.  Team Japan had taken us (Canada) out in the top 8 and they showed again in the finals why Japan is no joke when it come to darts.  Team USA was not be denied though and a great display in the deciding game showed why they were the deserving champions.

Pro Cricket singles did turn out to be a better event for me as I made it to the final 3 taking 3rd after being defeated by the future champion PAUL LIM in the finals of the winners side then I was overcome by a great player from Crotia to get back to the final.  Paul continues to show why he is definitely a all time great of the sport.

The event it self was a great event for me as I was a bit concerned after my performance in the 01 pro singles.  I had done ok in the 01 singles but I never felt all that comfortable on the day which was a bit strange but I came out flying in the Cricket event.  I was involved in some crazy matches where a 6 mark was a horrible shot!  I played this Boris from Crotia (turns out he is their PDC player) and he literally forced my to change my style of game after the first few as just hit 9 marks on him was not enough!!! This guy was a monster!!! I managed a 5th game victory but I won't soon forget him.... there was countless players that were throwing amazingly on the day and I feel most fortunate to have achieved what I did.

The Team event was up a few hours after the singles so I went out with Robert Heckman and Champion Paul Lim to grab a massage :)  Massages are so cheap here compared to USA that I had a few over my stay but in this case it may not been the wisest choice I ever made.  I played the first round knockout of the Team event well but during our second round match (top 8) againist Japan I could feel my energy just slipping away.  We were battling back and forth but when it came to the last few games I definitely was not the same player as in the singles earlier.  Lessons learned but Japan was a awesome team and they showed their talent all the way to the last game of the event againist USA.

Well time for a short practice then off to the airport....Once back in the USA I can post some of the pictures and show you the cool trophy I got from this event.  I have Manila in a few weeks followed by the ESPN TV Finals for the WORLD in Hong Kong chasing the 1,000,000 HKD or $130,000 USA dollars so hoping to take my game to another level by then....see you soon
