What makes you eligible for universal credit?

Universal Credit is payable to people who are of working age. This usually means people between the ages of 18 and Pension Credit qualifying age. From 16 January 2019 you cannot make a new claim for Universal Credit if you currently receive a Severe Disability Premium (SDP) in your benefit.
